International Quilt Market in Houston

We wanted to share with everyone our experience at the Fall Market.

Let's just start by saying that this fall's market was even bigger than last year's. There was over 22 rows and over 2000 booths of fabrics, quilting ideas, embellishments and accessories. We noticed that there is a lot more embellishments available this year, as well as glitter fabrics. Everybody is getting into batiks. There are new tools out there that will make crafter's life so much easier.

We got a tool that makes buttons out of fabric of your choice and we will hold a class on how to make flowers and buttons. The rhinestone places now have Swarovski's Crystals that are so cute.

We also noticed that there were a lot more bags and trendy fabrics available this year.

Many new patterns are coming to the shop when we get back. Snowflake and New Christmas designs will be kitted soon. There will be more classes available when we get back, so stay tuned.

We walked many many miles at the market, there was so much to see and so much to learn. Almost every booth had a how-to presentation available. It was a lot of fun.

Quilt exhibit was also fantastic. There was a lot of quilts that won many awards. It is definitely an art! We hope you enjoy some of the pictures we were able to take and we hope to see you soon in our shop!

First day of the market

Even Cat in The Hat was there :)
Jan won a basket of fabrics from Textile Creations Inc!

Enjoy some of the pictures from the quilt exhibit. There were so many of them, we only took a few pictures.

Every feather is a separate piece of fabric
